FEDERICA LIVERIERO

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY
Department of Political and Social Sciences
University of Pavia, Italy

ORCID: 0000-0002-9015-1720

PhD in Political Theory (Luiss University Rome) 2013

I am an Associate Professor of Political Philosophy at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Pavia.

I received my Ph.D. in Political Theory from LUISS University in 2013. Over the years, I have held visiting positions at Boston College (2011-2012; 2014), at the University of California, San Diego (2012), and at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell (2017).

My main areas of interest are theories of liberal legitimacy; democratic theory; political epistemology and oppression studies. I'm interested in understanding what we owe to each other as fellow citizens in democratic settings, both practically and epistemically. I rely on a relational reading of our mutual commitments and I try to couple normative analysis with a pragmatic sensitivity toward the non-ideal circumstances of politics.

Currently I am the
Coordinator of the Ethics and Political Philosophy Curriculum of the Ph.D. Program in Philosophy FINO; the Vice President of the Steering Committee of the Italian Society for Women in Philosophy (SWIP Italia) and a member of the Work-Package 7 of the EC2U Project.
I am a member of the Editorial Board of three academic Journals: Argumenta; Philosophy and Public Issues, and Philosophy and Social Criticism.

For more on my work, please see my Curriculum vitae.
